Olivia Wann
Olivia describes herself as a small town, rural lawyer. She grew up in Bear Spring in Stewart County, Tennessee and worked many years for a general dentist, Dr. Artie Peacher.
At age 35, she started a business and went back to school. She founded Modern Practice Solutions-- a national consulting firm specializing in assisting dental practices to comply with HIPAA and OSHA regulations. She wrote, "OSHA Compliance for Dental Offices," and "HIPAA Compliance & Data Management" as well as numerous industry articles. She has presented programs at colleges, universities, and for dental meeting planners throughout the United States.
Olivia attended St. Joseph's College of Maine's summer on-campus programs and gradudated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Health Care Administration in December 2006 at age 40. Olivia was accepted at the Nashville School of Law and graduated with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence December 2011. She successfully passed the Bar in February 2012 and was sworn in to practice law April 2012. She immediately started practicing law as a solo practictioner in her home town of Dover. She credits the local clerks and the assistant district attorney for their expertise and sharing knowledge in truly learning the mechanics of practicing law.
Olivia is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, OSAP and the Stewart County Chamber of Commerce.
In speaking with Olivia, she states: "I appreciate the many people who inspired me to love to learn--teachers, professors and most of all my mother and my grandmother. My grandmother worked in the sewing mills of New York and dreamed of being "educated." My mother literally prayed my way through law school as I stressed over exams and the long commute.
I've learned that it's not how much money you make, but rather how much you enjoy your life. I really care about people and in serving my clients, I see them as individuals with unique needs. Sometimes people just want to be heard.
I am grateful for a good husband, Kevin, who has tolerated my academic journey and my aspirations as an entrepreneur....I love practicting law in my small town of Dover and living on a farm with my dogs and horses. Life is really what we make of it ....Hopefully, I can make someone's life a little more pleasant." Liv Wann, 2013
