Matthew Alvarez
Paralegal

Matthew Alvarez has many years of experience as a paralegal working previously at a busy law firm specializing in construction law and real estate with an emphasis on compliance, claims, and the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with attorneys, colleagues, and clients.

He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Illinois State University, and also attained a Paralegal Certification from an ABA Accredited college. At our firm, Matthew manages the billing and ensures the cases are moving along with their timelines.

Matthew is from a small town in northeast Illinois and moved to Stewart County in 2021. He likes to stay focused with work while keeping relationships with friends and family a priority. He enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, going to the lake, watching football, and Nascar.


Christie Dunn
Paralegal

Christie is a highly experienced paralegal having worked in busy law firms in Tennessee and Kentucky in the areas of family law, estate planning, litigation and insurance defense. She obtained her paralegal certification from TN State University.

At our firm, Christie works closely with our clients in civil matters.

Christie is a native of Stewart County, born and raised! In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family as well as exercising her creativity making jewelry and working on renovation projects.


Gracie Hogue
Program Implementation Specialist

Gracie graduated from Murray State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance. Gracie joined the MPS team in 2016. She manages the online training program, the MPS newsletter, media channels, our program implementation, and customizes OSHA and HIPAA Manuals.

In her spare time, Gracie likes to hang out or go hiking with her husband Matt, draw, paint, quilt, fiddle, write and illustrate fiction, and watch M*A*S*H with her German Shepherd, Hawkeye.


Tammie Taylor
Office Manager

Tammie serves as Office Manager for Modern Practice Solutions. She also manages our presenter’s busy speaking schedules. Tammie has been in the medical-dental industry for the last 20 years serving in office management to include dental insurance and billing. Tammie is extremely efficient in working with clients, supporting team members and in keeping all our projects moving forward.

In Tammie’s spare time, she embroiders, travels and enjoys spending time with her dogs.


Kevin Wann
Accounts Manager

Kevin served many years in the automotive industry having held positions to include engineering, project management, and corporate management. Kevin takes care of accounts payable for both the law practice and Modern Practice Solutions. In his spare time, Kevin likes to be with his wife Olivia and their fur babies, and spend time near the lake.

Joe Parkinson, DDS
Compliance Trainer | West Tennessee and national seminars

A native of Buffalo, New York, Dr. Parkinson earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1997 at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. In 1998, he completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at UMKC. He owned a successful private practice in Kansas City, MO for almost 10 years before making dental education the focus of his career. Dr. Parkinson earned his Master of Public Administration through Eastern Kentucky University in 2016. He has held various roles in dental education administration, including Director of Quality Assurance, Assistant Dean for Predoctoral Clinical Operations, and Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs.

With over 27 years in dentistry and 16 years in clinical leadership, Dr. Joseph W. Parkinson has gained valuable experience in both patient care and practice management. As a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), he remains committed to ongoing professional growth and delivering quality care.

Dr. Parkinson’s work extends into dental practice management, where he prioritizes compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations, as well as infection control and patient safety. He also takes care to manage Blood Borne Pathogens protocols, ensuring a safe environment for both patients and staff.

Beyond clinical care, Dr. Parkinson contributes to the efficient operation of dental practices, with a focus on record keeping, billing, and coding. His efforts are aimed at improving the day-to-day processes that support patient care. Throughout his career, Dr. Parkinson has remained dedicated to his profession and to fostering safe, efficient, and patient-centered practices in dentistry.


Renee’ Graham, RDH, MEd
Compliance Trainer | Serving Middle Georgia regions

Renee’ received her dental hygiene degree from Albany University. In addition, she holds both a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Education degree from Valdosta State University. The combination of clinical dental hygiene, infection prevention specialist, Director of Dental Programs, academics, and corporate sphere allows her to bring many insights to the dental profession. Her speaking engagements encompass international, national, regional, and local events.

Renee’ is married to “Bear” for 45 years, they have 2 children and 6 almost perfect grandchildren. She enjoys hiking, reading, and golfing. Her golf game is horrible, but she has the best hunt and find skills for locating hook and slice shots.


Terri Walker, RDA
Compliance Trainer | Serving remotely

Terri started her dental career as an Oral Surgery Assistant in the mid 1980's, where she found her passion for infection control and dentistry. She served as the OSHA and Infection Control Coordinator for several years. During that time, she continued to attend the standard OSHA training seminars and left each one extremely disappointed until she attended a Modern Practice Solutions seminar. During a break, she approached the speaker and they spoke together about her history and interest in infection control. From there, she started her new career teaching others the importance of maintaining strict infection control and safety standards for their patients and employees. Terri also studied OSHA at Eastern Michigan University and attended multiple training symposiums regarding Infection Control and dental safety. She took a reprieve from the dental field for a few years and missed it tremendously, but has recently returned to Modern Practice Solutions and is excited to be back working with clients again.


Caitlin Denison, RDH
Compliance Trainer | Serving East Tennessee regions

Caitlin Denison graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s of science in biology in 2017. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Chattanooga, TN where she began working as a Tennessee OSHA Compliance Officer. In this role, she gained invaluable insight into the inspection process and OSHA standards. In 2021, she returned to school to earn her AAS in dental hygiene and began working as a clinical RDH. Caitlin enjoys combining her unique blend of dental hygiene and compliance experience to help offices achieve compliance.

In her free time, Caitlin and her husband enjoy gravel biking, rock climbing, and biking with their dog Luna.


Brenda Thornburg
Compliance Trainer | Serving remotely

Brenda serves as a remote OSHA and HIPAA trainer and assists clients with their HIPAA Security Risk Assessments and OSHA audits. She also assists clients in choosing the right compliance packages that suit their needs and their budget.

Brenda entered the field of Orthodontics in 1982 and has enjoyed a fantastic career creating beautiful healthy smiles. Being in the Team Development and Practice Management role encouraged her to develop excellent business skills and a heightened level of serving clients' needs. Her background as the HIPAA and Risk Management Coordinator for her Orthodontic office helps her understand your needs in developing your compliance programs. Joining Modern Practice Solutions is a natural fit for Brenda, and she looks forward to working with you.

Brenda enjoys life on the West Coast of Florida where she loves kayaking, hiking, her flower garden and time at home with Tim and Sir Duke, one very spoiled Basset Hound. Being from Michigan she is a BIG U of M fan…GO BLUE! And here is where we put in the WARNING!!! She is a lifelong Denver Broncos fan and loves to talk football.
